New Tools for possible Jeep Purchase

I am looking to exchange my 97 Mustang for a 90s Jeep Cherokee XJ. My wife was in a car wreck a couple months ago in her Chevy Suburban which totaled her car when an F150 pulled out in front of her. She and my daughter walked away with no serious injuries. The same wreck in the 97 Mustang would have put me and my daughter in the hospital, best case.

In some ways a Jeep isn’t that much safer, but in other ways a bigger car will always be safer in an accident, plus I would be able to haul all of the kids in a Jeep.

My wife had a Jeep Cherokee when we got married and we have always regretted selling that, so this is an opportunity to get a Jeep again.

Anyway while we wait and look I ordered some tools to eventually live in the Jeep.

The SAE wrenches might go in the 68 Mustang eventually since the Jeep supposedly has more metric that SAE nuts.

New Tool - Bernzomatic Torch Kit

Picked this up for $16 at Walmart to keep trying to get that stuck Lower Control Arm bolt unstuck. It didn’t work and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have to cut the dang bolt off at this point, but at least I have a torch now.

I needed it to break loose this bolt that holds on the lower control arm. My DeWalt impact driver didn’t have the umph for this.

New Tools - Deep Impact Socket Set and Brake Pliers

I needed some new tools to install the new parts I just bought.

I went with this Deep Impact Socket Set because it had a case and one more socket than the Harbor Freight set for only $12 more. ($37 from Amazon)
Also they were out of stock at the close Harbor Freight, or I might have still done that set but I wanted these sooner.

Neiko 02476A 1/2" Drive Deep Impact Socket Set, 14 Piece | 6 Point Standard SAE Sizes (3/8-Inch to 1-1/14") | Cr-V Steel

The one inch socket loaded onto my DeWalt impact drill driver for banging loose the big strut rod bolt.

Brake Pliers for installing my new brake hardware.

Stanley Control-Grip 90-948 Adjustable Wrench

One of my Christmas Presents was a Stanley Control-Grip 90-948 8” Adjustable Wrench. I already have a larger version of this wrench and love it. Now I have a slightly smaller one too.
