Removing the Grill Support cross member.

I thought I was ready to start in on removing one of the fenders but it turned out I had a couple more parts in the way.

The grill support cross member is held on by three bolts and sits on top of some tabs on the fender.

Combine a rusty old car and a nice long breaker bar and my six year old son sheared the head off a bolt while helping me take that off.

 

The last bolt was undersized compared to the other two, and the nut on the bottom was rusted on. It was a bear to get off but eventually it yealded and that support brace came off the car.
