Removing the Carburetor from a 1968 Mustang Straight Six Engine

The carburetor is held on by 1/2 inch nuts on studs that go into the carb mounting plate. The carb mounting plate is held on by 1/2 inch head bolts.

Vacuume advance hose.

Start by removing the throttle linkage.

This stud unscrewed from the bottom plate instead of having the nut unscrew. Oops.

Below the carb is a gasket.

I put that stud back for this picture.

I taped up the hole when the carb was off to keep dirt out of the intake.
